Educational Mission for
A Train Near Magdeburg
A Train Near Magdeburg documentary is more than “just” another Holocaust film. It is a story about recognizing the humanity in another human being. It inspires all viewers to evaluate their own roles to effect positive change in our world. The film provides a window into the Holocaust that, until Hudson Falls history teacher Matt Rozell’s oral history project, remained sealed in a vault. Using the film, educators, who are faced with monumental tasks of engaging students, cannot walk away from the film without being inspired to do more and be more for and with their students. All will be inspired, as film director Mike Edwards says, “to have their own Train Near Magdeburg moment.”
A Train Near Magdeburg poses the essential question: What do we want our story to be?
